I am in love with these shoes.
I’m not often drawn to slingbacks. For those who are unfamiliar with what a “slingback” is, it’s a type of shoe that has a strap across the heel (rather than the shoe cupping the entire heel like a pump). I typically stray away from slingbacks because they can be a little cumbersome to walk in when you’re trying to get somewhere quickly. Something about the strap on the heel rather than having a fully covered heel makes me feel like I’m about to walk out of my shoes.
This shoe, the Tabbae, has a 3 and 3/4″ heel and its best feature is the strap across the top of the foot. The strap makes my foot feel much more secure AND the strap is a fantastic design element. Surprise! Fashion and utility finally collide to make a cute shoe that also has a useful purpose.
My only qualm with the shoe is the rigid toe box. Unlike a shoe made from soft, natural leather, these heels can get very uncomfortable for your toes–quick. I still love the shoes in spite of the rigidity, though, since they’re unique and reasonably priced. You can find them here from Nine West for $79!
The Tabbae is available in at least two other colors. Try one of them out and let me know what you think!
